Autumn has arrived; the shadows are getting longer, the leaves are turning and there's a chill in the air as I head to the studio.

Herefordshire jewellery maker and designer Sue Lane's studioThat means one thing, Goldsmiths' Fair is just a round the corner. I am delighted to be showing here once again at the most prestigious contemporary jewellery and silverware exhibition in the UK. This will be my 14th fair, but the nerves and desire to show something new doesn't fade.

Here is a taster of some of the new contemporary jewellery pieces I will be showing:

Bespoke rose gold and imperial topaz and diamond ring by Sue LaneI love the colours of this ring - I used 18ct rose gold to bring out the beautiful warmth of this stunning imperial topaz, which is from Brazil. It is a unique stone and perfect for this one-off bespoke ring.

Bespoke ruby and diamond ringset, handmade by Sue Lane for Goldsmiths Fair

This ruby and 18ct yellow gold design is really lovely and so versatile. I designed this collection, just like the imperial topaz ring above, so you can slot in different rings to the centre section. For example, above shows yellow gold and diamond ring and below is an 18ct white gold ring.

Modern unique stacking gold and ruby ring handmade by Sue Lane UKThe seasons really do have such an impact on my work, and I can't help but choose warm yellows, oranges and green stones at the moment.

Silver and rose gold ring with diamond, made by Sue LaneThis silver, rose gold and diamond ring recently left the studio for a clients daughters 21st birthday. I thought it was just the perfect combination.

Well, I'm heading back to the bench to finish some last minute jewellery designs for the fair, while my studio buddy keeps a very close eye on proceedings.

My studio buddy, retriever/labrador Tash.
