Visit to London Exhibitions

Last week I spent a few days in London - mostly for work reasons - but I did squeeze in a few exhibitions!

I visited the National Theatre to see Take a View: Landscape Photographer of the Year 2010. A fantastic collection of photographs taken of wonderful landscapes from all over the country. It has inspired me to take my camera out a little more often!

Whilst in London, I also visited Dazzle jewellery exhibition. I have exhibited at this show previously, but this year I am showing at Dazzle in Manchester. It is always good to see work from so many friends and colleagues!

Ai Weiwei Exhibition

I also visited Tate Modern to see Ai Weiwei: Sunflower Seeds, which I thought was exceptional. The accompanying film really put the exhibition into context. I watched it twice and could easily have watched it again and again! As a maker, I admired the care, attention and desire to make each seed. I just wish I could have felt them and let them run through my fingers - but sadly due to the risk of the dust created from the porcelain, the public can no longer interact with the seeds.
