2014 off to a flying start

I can't believe it's February in just a few days. January has flown by. My first show of the year is next week, Desire in London. Replenishing stock and making new pieces has taken up the majority of my time, and I've really enjoyed it. The new year can be a tricky time, post Christmas madness and planning for the coming year. This year, I haven't had chance to ponder the "what if's" or "let's try", it's been head down and get on with it!

I have numerous commissions that came in before Christmas, but weren't needed for the big day, so those are on the bench at the same time. In fact tomorrow I am melting and casting two sets of rings for clients.

I have had the pleasure of welcoming several couples to the studio already this year, who have travelled to make their wedding rings with me. All stayed locally for several days to soak up the delights of the Herefordshire countryside.

As I'm sure we are all aware Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and it seems the ideal time to 'pop the question'. In the first week of January I had two emails arrive in my inbox about making the rings. It's always a privilege to be a small part of a very important moment, and help to make it special. For me, Valentine's Day is not about jewellery. It is a day Adie and I spend together, so no gifts or jewellery, just time together and a picnic with the dog.

So with Christmas and New Year seemingly a distant memory, the new year rolls into February. I am looking forward to a busy and exciting few weeks, and then I will once again be saying 'how on earth did we get to Easter! "

A few pics I took over New Year in Dartmouth, Devon, where we relaxed and recharged!
