Inspiration for making a contemporary jewellery commission

I sit writing this as a cool breeze flows through the jewellery studio, grey clouds are forming and I have a long sleeve top on for the first time in weeks. Often this is the norm for a UK summers day, but today it seems unusual!

I took time out to study an old piece of wood yesterday while out walking the dog, perhaps not the most exciting thing for most people, but the colours and textures were just so inspiring.

The colours and textures reminded me of the charcoal blocks I use in the jewellery workshop to melt clients gold, which I then up-cycle into one of my jewellery designs

The image below is is how the gold from above ended up. Wire than I am using to create a diamond ring set.

Here's just one of the jewellery commissions that I finished this week that has arrived with it's owner. An emerald and diamond ring set. The stones are from my clients mothers rings, which are hugely sentimental to her. I added in some new white gold and the yellow gold band was created using the old gold ring. She was delighted!

Just received the rings Sue !

They take my breath away !

You are amazing & I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Once again with love from a very overwhelmed lady.
