Sue Lane make your own wedding ring workshops

For more than 15 years I offered couples the chance to come and join me in my studio to make their own wedding rings, commitment rings, eternity rings and silver anniversary rings. I loved meeting so many amazing people, often at really exciting times in their lives. I heard all about their hopes, dreams and histories whilst chatting away making rings, drinking tea and eating my mums homemade cakes. It was always a lovely way to spend a day.

However, with a heavy heart, I have now taken my last bookings. My first and foremost focus has always been designing and making contemporary jewellery, and that side of my business has become so successful that it now requires all of my time and attention.

If you are looking to make your own wedding rings with me, and found me through word of mouth from friends and family I am really sorry I can’t offer you the same experience. And if you've got a workshop booked with me please don't worry! I'm very much looking forward to seeing the last few couples over the next few months!

However, I can of of course make your wedding rings for you, and you are more than welcome to visit me in my jewellery making studio and we can chat through designs and options to suit you so they are still special, unique and fit perfectly.

I like would like to say a big thank you to all the couples who have visited me in the depths of the Herefordshire countryside. You have all made my job exciting, fun and meaningful. We’ve had surprises sprung on unsuspecting partners, tears of joy and laughter, meaningful chats, and four legged friends adding their help and support and I have learnt a huge amount from spending time with such diverse and lovely people.

Vicars, rocket scientists, prison wardens, zoo keepers, film directors, actors, F1 car engineers, dental nurses, soldiers, refuge collectors, lorry drivers, brain surgeons. Thanks to you all.

Ring sizing

Standard designs

Sue makes rings to the size you select when ordering. If the ring does not fit, then she will re-size the ring free of charge (once only) providing:

  1. You (the customer) pay £9 to cover Royal Mail Special Delivery costs for returning the ring to you (can be paid online or via bank transfer).
  2. You (the customer) ensure it is returned within 14 days of delivery.

Please contact Sue before returning a ring for a re-size; it is so useful to have a discussion to help gauge how much adjustment is needed.

Please note: rings must be returned via Royal Mail Special Delivery and opting for the appropriate insurance option to cover the cost of the item. Sue Lane is not responsible for the delivery costs of returning a ring for re-sizing or for lost or damaged rings whilst in transit. For more details, please read our Returns Policy.

After 14 days: Sue will happily resize but at a cost based on the time needed to fulfil the work plus postage. Sue can quote for any work before you return the ring.

Commissioned designs

Any item made just for you, that is not one of Sue's standard designs: You (the customer) need to ensure the size is correct before Sue commences any work. If your order doesn't fit, Sue may be able to resize for you depending on the design and stones used. There may well be a charge involved due to the complexity of the design and for working with stones that where not supplied by Sue which may be difficult to work with. Contact Sue to discuss if it is possible and she can let you know the cost involved, including postage.

Not sure of your ring size?

If you are not sure of your ring size, please contact Sue. She can arrange your order and then post out a free ring sizer to you. You then simply call or email with the measurement.
