As many of you may know, I am showing at Goldsmiths' Fair from Monday 29th September to Sunday 5th October. It can be a little confusing because the show is split into two weeks, and for the first time this year, each week has a completely different set of makers. Week one is underway now with those exhibitors taking down on Sunday evening and my week, "Week Two" setting on Monday, ahead of the Private View Monday evening!
The Fair is held in the magnificent Goldsmiths Hall, a beautiful building steeped in history, close to St Paul's Cathedral in the city of London. The Company have made dramatic changes to the Fair this year, aiming to push the show forward and to open it up to a new audience. Visually, it will be more gallery like, there are talks by people in the jewellery industry and many other changes I will see when I arrive!
The days before any large show are daunting, even after 11 years of Goldsmiths' I can't say it gets that much easier! However, chatting to customers is the enjoyable part, and I look forward to the opening!
