On Saturday 5th February Georgina Franklin and I hosted a workshop making silver textured pendants. The day began with Georgina demonstrating techniques including using the rolling mill, stamps, hammering, reticulation as well as all the basic skills of piercing and soldering. We then began to come up with designs with each student based on what they wanted to make and the textures they liked. Some students experimented with various techniques in copper to first, while others went straight into silver. We had fantastic results from everyone, a rich and varied day workshop!
