About Sue Lane Jewellery

I set up Sue Lane jewellery in 2000 after graduating from Middlesex University. The aim has always been to design, make and sell a range of contemporary jewellery, that is both wearable and has a distinct style, which is now clearly recognisable as Sue Lane.

I continue to developed my collections, by doing exhibitions, trade shows and retail shows around the UK, including Chelsea Crafts Fair, Origin and Goldsmiths’ Fair. Every year I develop new designs to enable customers to continually find something new. What’s more, as a designer I need to move forward all the time and find it exciting to move onto new ideas.

In 2004 I was asked to teach jewellery workshops to community groups, and this soon developed by word of mouth, and I rapidly built a reputation as a self-employed jewellery making tutor. These two elements of my business have worked well together, and I co-ordinate teaching around quieter times of the jewellery calendar. As teaching is a two way process, I find it as stimulating to work with students as they do with me.
