My work and design ethic is to keep it simple and do it well, something I often try to teach to students. Wedding bands illustrate this perfectly.

Here are a few examples of some eternity rings I have made.

Silver and diamond ring.

This ring is available to purchase online, although I have made many variations; gold, silver, platinum and palladium – with varying numbers and sizes of diamonds to suit all budgets. This design works beautifully with coloured diamonds and stones too. Below is a ring with set with 46 diamonds around the whole ring.

9k white gold eternity ring.

The above engagement and eternity ring was made to commission. The eternity ring is channel set with 30 square diamonds, covering half the circumference of the band. The ring is 2mm wide.

An 18k gold ring set with 8 square diamonds, the width is 2.7mm. Any number of diamonds can be set to suit your budget.

Engagement and eternity ring

With January well and truly here, the jewellery making studio is back in full swing. Online orders and commissions that were not Christmas presents await my attention at the bench.

It seems the festive break is a good time for couples thinking about their forthcoming wedding to make plans. Over my week long break, the majority of people contacting me have been enquiring about making wedding rings, ordering wedding bands, and even engagement ring enquiries from delighted couples who have made the decision to get married over the festive period! It’s a lovely way to return to the studio because talk of weddings always makes me think of exciting fresh beginnings, much like the first week of January.

Opening the studio on the first morning of 2012 is done with a renewed eagerness and fresh energy. One thing I have learnt over the years is to give the studio a good clean and tidy on the last working day of December – so when January arrives I’m not greeted with left over Christmas cake and tinsel!

January is a time to reflect, improve and get things done in the studio. New designs, planning work, work on the website – all the things that can’t always be worked on when you’re full steam ahead with orders for Christmas.

So, in honour of a wonderful Christmas break, here are a few images from the festive period before I completely turn my attention to 2012!

After a long build up, Christmas is almost in touching distance – so for me it is time to tidy the jewellery workshop and close the door for the last time in 2011. I have had a brilliant year, with many returning customers and meeting lots of new ones. I have had the opportunity to be a small part of many couples special occasions; from secret engagements, making rings with excited couples, gifts for new mums from devoted husbands and special anniversary gifts to celebrate many years of a happy marriage.
